Ermenrich Ping TM100 2-in-1 Stud and Moisture Detector

Detection of hidden studs

This device is equally valuable during initial construction and final finishing, as the early detection of utilities helps avoid costly mistakes. Special algorithms operate in several modes. Three of them detect wooden and metal studs behind cladding at depths of up to 13mm, 25mm, and 38mm. A separate operating mode is designed to detect metal elements at a depth of up to 60mm, while another one warns of live wires hidden at a depth of up to 51mm below the surface, thereby reducing the risk of damage and the associated hazards.

Measuring humidity and temperature

The device can also operate as a contact moisture meter to assess if materials are ready for further processing. For wood, the device measures moisture content from 6% to 60% with an accuracy of ±2%. For concrete, plaster, and plasterboard, it measures moisture content in the range of 0.2% to 2.9% with an accuracy of ±0.1%. The built-in digital thermometer operates in the range of 0°C to 40°C and displays the readings in 0.1°C increments, allowing the user to accurately monitor indoor and outdoor air temperature.

Interface and controls

The control panel allows you to instantly switch modes, and auto-calibration adapts the sensor to the new material without delay. The backlit LCD display shows depth in millimeters or inches, humidity in percent, and temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit with large characters. In low light conditions, the audio signal function is useful to confirm target detection. The Hold button records the last measurements that were taken. An auto-off function activates after 3 minutes of inactivity.
